Syed Ali Gilani buried in Srinagar, India imposes unannounced curfew in the valley


 
Syed Ali Gilani, the most respected and senior leader of Kashmir's independence, has been laid to rest, while India has imposed an unannounced curfew in the Valley to silence the Kashmiris.

According to Indian media, Syed Ali Shah Gilani was buried in the premises of Haiderpura Jama Masjid in Srinagar before Fajr prayers. He was buried in Lahad by his two sons Dr Syed Naeem Gilani and Syed Naseem Gilani.

A heavy contingent of Indian occupying forces and puppet police was deployed near the Jamia Masjid and Syed Ali Gilani's residence to prevent Hurriyat leaders and the public from attending the funeral prayers and burials. Due to which only his family and neighbors could attend the funeral prayers and burial. However, slogans against Kashmir's independence and India continued to be raised.

Following the news of Syed Ali Gilani's death, the occupying Indian administration had imposed an unannounced curfew across the valley, including Srinagar, last night. Mobile phone and broadband internet facilities have been cut off. Roads around the house of the great Hurriyat leader have been sealed off. No one is allowed to go there.

On the other hand, strict restrictions have been imposed in Sopore, the home district of Syed Ali Shah Gilani. Indian Army and other paramilitary forces have been deployed on roads and intersections.

It is to be noted that Syed Ali Gilani had passed away yesterday. All the important personalities of the country including the Prime Minister and the Army Chief have expressed their condolences on his demise. A day of official mourning is being observed across the country on his demise and the national flag has been hoisted.
