New Delhi: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has said that we are ready for mediation between Pakistan and India but the time will be decided by both the countries.
In an interview with an Indian newspaper, Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that instability in Afghanistan is the most worrying issue, the second biggest issue is security so that the country does not become a hotbed of international terrorism. The current leadership of Afghanistan is in the hands of the Taliban, so it is their responsibility to run Afghanistan well and take steps that will lead to peace, security and prosperity there, as well as security to the Taliban. Work must also be done to address the international community's concerns about the situation.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that Saudi Arabia has not been in contact with the Taliban for many years because it was our policy that they should end their involvement in international terrorism. In this regard, the Taliban have made some promises to the international community. We want to see these promises implemented, we will work with the international community to ensure that the Taliban live up to their promises, and our future decisions will be based on that.
Responding to the OIC's condemnation of the Kashmir issue, atrocities against Muslims in India and anti-Muslim riots, the Saudi Foreign Minister said, "In our view, these are all internal issues of India." Depending on what the Indian government and the people there do to resolve it, we will fully support the steps taken by the Indian government in this regard. As far as statements on Kashmir are concerned, it is a dispute between the two countries. Pakistan and India should take the path of dialogue for a lasting solution to their mutual problems. Saudi Arabia is ready to mediate between the two countries but for that. The timing will be decided by both countries.
