Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says Pakistan can't afford Afghan refugees.

According to the news, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his US counterpart Antony Blinken met in which the US confidence in Pakistan's positive role in Afghanistan is a sign.

The Foreign Minister said that the focus of the meeting was on the current situation in Afghanistan and its permanent policy.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan wanted a constructive and positive role of the international community in Afghanistan. He apprised his American counterpart of Pakistan's position on Afghanistan.

He said that Pakistan was working to prevent a possible humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, adding that Pakistan could no longer afford Afghan refugees.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan was keen to promote trade, investment and public relations with the United States.

It may be recalled that Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had arrived in New York on a five-day visit where he attended the 76th session of the UN General Assembly while Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed the General Assembly.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi met with the Pakistani American community in New York and spoke to local and international media representatives, in which he was briefed on Pakistan's views on various regional and global issues.
