Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rains

 

The Meteorological Department has forecast more rains in different parts of Pakistan, with strong winds and thundershowers expected in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, East Balochistan and Sindh in the next 24 hours.

On Friday, intermittent rains with strong winds and thundershowers continued in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Eastern Balochistan and Sindh. The meteorological department said that apart from the federal capital Islamabad, Punjab's Pothohar, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Okara, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Mianwali, Sargodha and Khushab districts were also affected on Saturday. Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalpur, Layyah and Bhakkar are likely to receive showers with strong winds and thundershowers.

Rains with strong winds and thundershowers are expected in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Dadu, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Mithi, Sanghar, Hyderabad, Badin, Thatta and Karachi districts of Sindh province.

Strong winds in Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Batgram, Swat, Dir, Malakand, Buner, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Nowshera, Peshawar, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, DI Khan and Kurram districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Thundershowers are expected.

In Balochistan, Zhob, Musa Khel, Sibi, Kohlu, Bar Khan, Ziarat, Quetta, Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran and Lasbela are likely to receive showers with strong winds and thundershowers. Rain is expected.
