Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has said that major mosques in Occupied Kashmir, which were closed due to security and Corona epidemic, should be reopened immediately for Friday prayers.
According to Kashmir Media Service, former Chief Minister of Occupied Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has demanded the opening of mosques for Friday prayers and said that restrictions on religious freedom could not be tolerated on the pretext of security and Corona epidemic.
The former chief minister added that there was no longer any justification for closing major mosques in the valley in the name of security and corona virus, while the government itself claimed that the situation was normal and under control.
Mufti said that places of worship of other religions have been opened while public gatherings are going on and celebrations are also being held, so why are the mosques closed? But it should be opened for Friday prayers.
It should be noted that the Modi government had divided the valley into subordinate parts of the federation by removing the special status of occupied Kashmir under the black law and had detained former chief ministers, including freedom fighters, to quell public protests.
