Indian comedian Kapil Sharma is in trouble as an FIR has been registered against his show.
According to Indian media, an FIR has been registered against Kapil Sharma's show in the district court of Shivpuri in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The FIR has been registered against an episode of the show as the actors of the show were shown drinking alcohol on stage while presenting the courtroom scene. The complainant alleged that the actors had insulted the court in their show.
A lawyer belonging to Shivpuri has lodged an FIR in the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court. The case will be heard on October 1. The lawyer said in the FIR that an episode of Kapil Sharma's show aired on Sony TV showed a court scene on stage in which the actors were seen drinking alcohol in front of everyone. This is contempt of court.
Complainant says that is why I sought to file an FIR against the culprits under Section 356/3 in the court. In addition, the show also makes obscene comments about women. This kind of negligence should be stopped on TV.
It should be noted that the episode against which this FIR has been registered was aired on 19 January 2020 and this episode was aired again on 24 April 2021.
