Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, Director General (DG) of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), has met with Hezb-e-Islami chief and former Afghan Prime Minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.
Afghan TV channel Tolo News, citing sources, claimed that the DG ISI met with Taliban leaders after arriving in Kabul on Saturday. Later that night, he met Gulbuddin Hekmatyar in Kabul.
Sources said that the current situation in Afghanistan and the formation of a coalition government in Afghanistan were discussed during the meeting between DG ISI and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.
It may be recalled that when General Faiz Hameed reached Kabul yesterday, he was surrounded by journalists at the airport. A journalist asked him what was going to happen next. On this DG ISI said that you don't have to worry, everything will be fine.
