Former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that the reason for his resignation was Imran Khan. Speaking on Geo News, he said that he did not want to allow Imran Khan to visit Aabpara during the sit-in but Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif allowed Imran Khan to enter the red zone and resigned. Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that he had ordered Rangers, FC, and police to take action against the sit-ins of Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri. He did not want Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri to come an inch beyond Aabpara. The then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif allowed the protesters to enter the red zone against the will of the Home Minister and resigned.
It may be recalled that since his resignation, Chaudhry Nisar had distanced himself from the PML-N and had also contested the 2018 general elections as an independent candidate.
