Case for making 'pornographic films': Raj Kundra granted bail

Industrialist Raj Kandra, husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, who has been in police custody for three months on charges of making pornographic films, has been granted bail.

Raj Kandra was arrested by Mumbai police on July 19 this year on charges of making pornographic films and blackmailing models.

According to the Times of India, Raj Kandra had approached the court for the fifth time on September 18 for bail and on September 20, the Mumbai High Court granted his application.

In the petition, Raj Kandra had taken the position that the police were making him a 'scapegoat'. The challan filed against him in the court did not prove any allegation against him.

The petition filed by the industrialist also claimed that his name was not mentioned in the First Information Report (FIR) regarding pornographic films but the police arrested him and proved any charges against him. Could not be done

According to Raj Kandra, despite a three-month investigation, the police have not proved that the industrialists are directly involved in making pornographic films or uploading them on the website.

At the request of Raj Kandra, the Mumbai High Court, after a brief hearing, granted him bail of 50,000 Indian rupees.

After getting bail, Raj Kandra will be able to go home in three months. Earlier, his application was rejected by the courts three times while the court hearings could not be held twice.

Just three days before his bail was granted, police filed a 1,400-page supplementary challan against him, including a statement from his wife, Shilpa Shetty.

Police also interrogated Raj Kandra's wife Shalpa Shetty twice on the issue of making pornographic films but it could not be clearly proved that the actress was also involved in the case.

The actress had twice denied allegations of her husband making pornographic films in recorded statements to the police but at the same time said that she was so busy with her work that she could not keep an eye on her husband's movements and she knew this. Couldn't be that her husband is busy making pornographic films.

Her husband is accused of making pornographic films using the offices of his company, Vivian Industries, and uploading them to apps called "Boli Fame, including hot shots," which are being registered and run in London.

Raj Kandra is also accused of blackmailing several models and forcing them to make pornographic films.
