The court has issued arrest warrants for actress Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed in a case of dancing and making video in Wazir Khan Mosque.
Judicial Magistrate Javiria Munir Bhatti heard the case against the accused in which the prosecution said that actress Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed danced and made a video in Wazir Khan Mosque. The prosecution requested that the court order action against both the accused.
The Judicial Magistrate issued bailable arrest warrants in the absence of both the accused.
It may be recalled that a video recording of a song by Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed went viral on social media in which the sanctity of the historic Wazir Khan Mosque was violated. The video was widely condemned on social media, including social and religious circles.
A case was registered against the actress and singer at Akbari police station in Lahore on the complaint of Farhat Manzoor Khan for violating the sanctity of Wazir Khan Mosque.
