Australian experts have discovered that the combination of nerve cells in the abdomen is more intelligent than previously thought.
According to media reports, similar to the type of nerve cells found in our brains, there are also nerve cells in our stomach that are of special importance in many tasks related to digestion of food.
From the contraction and dilation of our stomach walls to the digestion of food, these cells not only monitor dozens of functions, but also command the abdominal and gastric muscles when needed. This collection of cells is also called the "stomach brain".
