The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has approved a 14 per cent hike in gas prices in the country.
According to private TV, the decision said that the average price of gas per MMBTU has been fixed at Rs 686.77 after an increase of Rs 86.93, while OGRA has given Sui Northern Rs 254 in arrears for the last financial year. He did not allow the recovery of Rs 1 billion and sought the opinion of the federal government on the matter.
In addition, the regulatory authority has approved a 7% increase in the average price of gas in Sui Southern. After an increase of Rs 54.47, the average price of gas has been fixed at Rs 779.88 per MMBTU.
According to OGRA, the increase in gas price has been made for the current financial year but the final decision to increase the price will be taken after approval from the federal government.
