The Taliban have completed consultations on the formation of a new government in Afghanistan. The new government will be announced soon.
According to Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, the three-day meeting of the Leadership Council in Kandahar, chaired by Taliban Amir Hibaullah Akhundzada, ended. The meeting, which began on Sunday, ended on Monday with a detailed discussion on the latest political, security and social situation.
The meeting considered the provision of facilities to the people including protection of government property. The formation of a new government was also discussed and necessary consultations were completed in this regard. At the end of the meeting, Amir of the Islamic Emirate (Taliban) Mullah Habtaullah Akhundzada addressed the gathering and briefed the council members on their responsibilities.
