A few days before the release, Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar's film 'Toofan' caused a storm on social media.
The hashtag #BoycottToofaan started trending on social media in India. Opponents of the film demanded a boycott of the film.
In angry messages on social media, Indian citizens say that the ideology of Love Jihad is being promoted through the film and anti-India and anti-Hindu Dharma propaganda is being spread.
In the film, Farhan Akhtar is playing the role of Aziz Ali, a national level boxer from India and his rival actress Mrunal Thakur is playing the role of Dr. Pooja Shah.
Critics say the jihad is being promoted through a romantic relationship between the two characters.
The film will be released on July 16 on the web streaming service Amazon Prime.
