The whole meat of the black chicken from head to toe is also black

In some parts of India, the common and eaten chicken is completely dark black and interestingly, its meat is also very black.

The rooster is called Karak Nath and in India it is also called 'Kali Masi'. This chicken is popular in many parts of India and is eaten with gusto. Although the black color of the meat looks strange, it definitely changes after cooking.

On the other hand, the legs, head, skin and feathers of this chicken are completely black and it is said that the meat of Karak Nath is more nutritious than that of this broiler chicken. Kali Masi was first popular in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh and gradually many of its farms were established in many parts of India. It is now common in Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Nutritionists claim that it has lower fat and cholesterol levels than other chickens, which is why its meat is so expensive to sell. In many Indian regions, the price of live chicken is Rs 850 and the price of meat is Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,200 per kg. Thus, it is three times more expensive than ordinary chickens.

Black aunt is expensive because it takes a long time to raise and nurture. Ordinary broiler chickens are ready in 45 days while Karak Nath takes 8 months to grow. Some pictures show that black aunt's eggs and blood are also black which is a wrong thing.

Although such black meat and colored chickens are not common outside India, chickens called 'silkies' are common in China which are dark gray in color and the meat is also gray.
