Extreme heat in the western states of the United States has severely affected life. Temperatures in Death Valley, California, have reached 130 degrees Fahrenheit (54.4 degrees Celsius). It should also be noted that the Valley of Death is the hottest place in the world.
Death Valley recorded a temperature of 130 degrees Fahrenheit on Friday, according to the US National Weather Service. Also on Saturday, the temperature was recorded at 129.4 degrees Fahrenheit (54.11 degrees Celsius).
A 130-degree Fahrenheit temperature can be seen on a thermometer installed outside the Furnace Creek Visitor Center in Death Valley. Many tourists head to Death Valley in the scorching heat and leave their air-conditioned vehicles to take pictures with the above thermometer.
A social media user said he visited Furnace Creek in Death Valley at 6pm on Sunday, when the temperature was 132 degrees Fahrenheit (56 degrees Celsius). Many users have also shared their photos with 133 degrees Fahrenheit visible on the same thermometer, but this has not been confirmed by the National Weather Service.
Experts need to verify the 130-degree records from Friday and from August 2020, but if correct they would be the hottest temperatures reliably recorded on Earth. https://t.co/AbqqZvF134
