A cabinet meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar approved the budget for the next financial year.
According to private TV, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Usman Bazdar in which the budget for the next financial year was discussed in detail. Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht approved key points of the budget. The meeting also approved the supplementary budget for the last financial year.
According to sources, the new budget of Punjab is likely to be people friendly and conducive for the business community. The development budget is likely to be more than Rs 600 billion and non-development budget up to Rs 1350 billion.
The Punjab government will not impose any tax in the budget for the next financial year but the tax is likely to be revised. Rs 400 billion will be allocated for the purchase of wheat.
