Former Chief Ministers of Occupied Kashmir Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti have accepted the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the All Party Meeting (APC).
It may be recalled that a few days ago, the Indian media had reported that the Indian government was considering the restoration of the special status of Occupied Kashmir and the APC would be convened soon in this regard. Kashmiri leaders have been invited to join the APC. After receiving an invitation from the Modi government, the Gupkar Alliance of Political Parties of Occupied Kashmir held an important meeting at Farooq Abdullah's residence in Srinagar. In which Farooq Abdullah said that the position of Gupkar Declaration is clear and there is no change in it. Mehbooba Mufti said that Indian government is holding talks with Taliban in Doha, they should also have dialogue in occupied Kashmir. He said that India should also hold talks with Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir issue. Kashmiri leader Muzaffar Shah said that no compromise could be reached on Articles 370 and 35A under any circumstances.
It may be recalled that the Modi government has invited the leadership of major Kashmiri political parties to an all-party meeting in Delhi on June 24.
