Multan Sultans defeated Karachi Kings by 12 runs to clinch their second victory in the event

 

In the 16th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6, Multan Sultans defeated Karachi Kings by 12 runs to claim their second victory in the event.

In the match played in Abu Dhabi, Karachi Kings won the toss and invited Multan Sultans to bat, which put a total of 176 runs for 5 wickets on the scoreboard.

Interestingly, none of the players scored a half-century, Riley Russo 44, Sohaib Maqsood 31, Mohammad Rizwan 29, Shamron 7 and Rehmanullah Gurbaz returned to the pavilion with 3 runs.

Khushdal Khan and Sohail Tanveer scored unbeaten 44 and 14 runs respectively for Multan Sultans. On the other hand, Perera took 2 wickets, Waqas Maqsood and Emad Wasim took 1.1 wickets each for Karachi Kings.

In pursuit of the target, Karachi Kings Sharjeel Khan and Babar Azam started the innings, taking the first wicket for 14 runs.

After Sharjeel Khan's dismissal for 4 runs, the players continued to be dismissed from one end at a time.

Martin Guptill 11, Najibullah Zardani 11 returned to the pavilion, then the score of Karachi Kings was 77 runs in 11.3 overs.

From the other end, Babar Azam played an unbeaten innings of 85 off 65 balls, followed by Walton with 35 runs.

The duo put on an excellent 77-run stand, with Walton run out on the last ball of the 19th over.

Thus, Karachi Kings scored 164 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, Imran Tahir sent 3 while Sohail Tanveer sent 2 players to the pavilion.

Riley Russo of Multan Sultans was declared the best player of the match for his excellent batting.
