Lucky Motor Corporation Limited (LMCL) has recalled about 14,000 Kia Sportage vehicles in the last one and a half years to rectify a technical glitch caused by a fire in two vehicles.
Market sources said that the motor corporation has advised LMCL to recall the affected vehicles.

Meanwhile, an official at LMCL said on condition of anonymity that the company has sold more than 20,000 sporting vehicles in the last one and a half years.
He said that after recalling 14,000 vehicles, the remaining models have been delivered after making necessary modifications.
When asked if any relevant government ministries or quality control department has taken any notice, he said that so far no ministry has asked LMCL why vehicles are being returned all over the world. The formal ordering process is underway.
"We have recalled the vehicles after taking the customers into confidence," he added.
LMCL had said in a circular to Sportage buyers on June 19 that as part of its global 'what' campaign, LMCL was running a special safety service campaign related to inspections and, if needed, The HECU fuse kit will be replaced in sport vehicles.
A potential electrical problem with this fuse could result in safety hazards.
The company requested its customers to avail this free service by visiting any authorized dealer in 19 cities across the country and inspecting their vehicle.

The company told customers that the supply of essential parts such as semiconductor chips has been delayed due to epidemics and supply difficulties.
