Construction of Dasu Dam is in full swing

Construction of the Dasu Dam is in full swing in the Upper Kohistan, the most backward district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

With the provision of employment to the local people and the price of land, the people are beginning to see the meaning of unfulfilled dreams.

Construction of the Dasu Hydropower Project on the banks of the Karakoram Highway in Upper Kohistan is expected to be completed in April 2026. The construction of the dam will generate 4,320 MW of affordable hydropower.

The project, to be built in collaboration with the World Bank, will cost Rs. 510.98 billion.

The mega project has created a ray of hope for development and a prosperous life for the poor people of the region.

Rs. 12.5 billion has been given to the people in the form of compensation for 3,815 acres of land acquired so far for the construction of the dam.

The 3,000 people involved in the construction of the dam have found employment in their own area.

Earlier, the bank had 1 branch in the area, but now 11 branches have been opened. Skill development and training programs for construction workers are also underway.

The construction of the dam will not only end the energy crisis in the country but will also pave the way for prosperity in the lives of the poor people of the region.
