China launches new generation meteorological satellite
According to the Chinese news agency Shenhua, the "Fing Yun 4B" satellite was launched into space from the Shiqing satellite station in Sichuan Province by a Long March 3B rocket.
According to the news, the satellite has reached orbit. The new generation satellite will be used for weather forecasting, meteorological analysis and environmental and disaster monitoring.
The satellite will be controlled by the Chinese Meteorological Department
The "Fing Yun 4B" satellite will form a meteorological monitoring network in conjunction with the "Fing Yun 4A" satellite launched into space in December 2016.
