A magistrate has filed a case against a shopkeeper selling cheap vegetables

Lahore Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Riaz Malik has initiated legal action against a magistrate who had registered a case against a shopkeeper selling cheap vegetables in Raiwind area.

The Deputy Commissioner has withdrawn his powers from Magistrate Kashif Bashir for filing a false complaint against the vegetable seller and a show cause notice has also been issued to him. DC Lahore immediately stopped Magistrate Kashif Bashir from checking any kind of price control. Kashif Bashir was given powers under the Price Control Act 1977.

It is to be noted that Raiwind police had arrested the shopkeeper for selling 'cheap' vegetables and had also registered an FIR against him. According to the text of the FIR registered against the sale of vegetables cheaply, vegetable seller Waqas Muhammad was selling vegetables on Raiwind Road at a price lower than the official rate list. A case was registered against him on the complaint of Price Control Magistrate Chaudhry Kashif Bashir.
