The European Union (EU) has stalled on a major investment deal with China. According to a senior official of the European Commission, due to bilateral sanctions, the environment for the EU-China Comprehensive Investment Agreement is not conducive.
The agreement was finalized by the parties in December last year after seven years of negotiations.
In Brussels, critics of China and the US president openly expressed outrage at the deal.
