Authorities in Indonesia have cracked down on fraud in the name of corona virus testing, with the pharmaceutical company re-washing and using nasal swab test kits.
According to a report by the British Broadcasting Corporation, the test kits used on about 9,000 passengers at Kualanamu Airport were reused.
Five employees of a state-owned pharmaceutical company involved in the fraud were arrested. The pharmaceutical company was providing anti-gen rapid tests to passengers at Kuala Lumpur Airport.
According to the police, the fraud in the name of test had been going on since December. Police acted on a complaint by passengers against the company for issuing fake results.
In the special operation, a police officer disguised as a passenger detected fraud in the name of test. Recover several used kits from the raid marker test site. The company is facing lawsuits from passengers for using recycled test kits.
