The government of Pakistan has decided to buy 1 million doses of Pfizer company's MRNA vaccine.
According to Federal Ministry of Health officials, Pakistan will purchase 1 million doses of MRNA vaccine from Pfizer through the National Disaster Management Authority. Pfizer has also promised to provide the vaccine, officials said.
According to officials, Pakistan will receive 1 million doses of Pfizer vaccine in July or August, and 23 ultra-cold chain freezers have been purchased to store the MRNA vaccine.
On the other hand, Dr. Faisal Sultan is of the view that there is no agreement to buy Pfizer vaccine, talks are underway.
Officials say the Pfizer vaccine will be given to people with weakened immune systems, as well as to those traveling abroad under the age of 40.
Pfizer also confirmed talks with the Pakistani government on the vaccine.
