The Anti Narcotics Cell of Mumbai Police’s crime branch arrested Dhruv Tahil, son of veteran actor Dilip Tahil on Wednesday for procuring drugs. Dhruv Tahil was arrested by the Bandra unit of the Anti Narcotics Cell as his Whatsapp chats with a peddler surfaced during an investigation. The Anti Narcotics Cell had earlier arrested alleged drug peddler Muzammil Abdul Rahman Shaikh with Mephedrone and booked him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
During the probe it was found out that Dhruv was in touch with Shaikh since 2017. WhatsApp chats show that Dhruv had contacted him to acquire drugs and transferred money to him at least seven times.
