According to Indian media, a fire broke out in the Corona ward of a hospital run by a trust in the state of Gujarat due to a short circuit. The fire quickly spread to the ICU, killing 18 patients, including two nurses. Twelve fire brigade vehicles were deployed to put out the blaze, while 40 ambulances were dispatched from Corona Ward and ICU to transport patients to other hospitals.
It should be noted that three major incidents of fires have taken place in hospitals in India this year in which a total of 50 patients have been killed.
