A minor fire broke out in India's aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya which has been extinguished.
According to details, the personnel on duty saw smoke rising from a part of the plane which was immediately extinguished. Indian Navy Chief Public Relations Officer Mehul Karnak said in a statement that the aircraft carrier was not severely damaged and the ship was currently docked at Karwar port in Karnataka.
He said that in view of the fire that broke out in the ship, all the crew present on the ship have been made a part of the inquiry and an investigation has been started. A fire broke out in which a lieutenant commander was killed during a firefighting operation. The fire started when the aircraft carrier was entering the caravan port. The aircraft carrier completed a test phase at sea in 2013. And in June 2014, India added an aircraft carrier to the Navy.
