In Russia, despite a fire on the upper floor, a team of doctors on the lower floor continued open heart surgery and managed to save the patient's life.
According to the International News Agency, a fire broke out in a hospital in the Russian city of Blagovesh Chensk during which rescue personnel evacuated 16 patients.
On the other hand, a heart surgeon and his team were performing open heart surgery on a patient on the ground floor of the same hospital, but the power went out.
The rescue team ensured power supply to the operation theater through another cable. Surgeon Dr. Valentin Flitov continued the operation with his team and completed the operation.
The fire at the hospital was caused by an electric short, but the fire brigade soon contained the blaze. A few patients suffered minor injuries, while certificates and rewards have been announced for the team that completed the operation despite the fire.
