Earlier, Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team, had the record of scoring the fastest 2,000 runs in T20 matches. Virat Kohli had scored 2,000 runs in 56 matches, while Babar Azam scored 2,000 runs in the 52nd match. Babar Azam set the record during the third T20 match against Zimbabwe in Harare.
