The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has imposed new restrictions across the country in response to the spread of the corona virus in Pakistan, and authorities are urging the public to take precautionary measures.
More than 3,000 cases have been reported in the country in the last six days and in 24 hours, the number of cases of this contagious virus has increased by 3,270 while 72 patients have lost their lives.
Similarly, the total number of corona virus victims in the country has reached 633,741 out of which 13,935 patients have died.
In addition, in the last 24 hours, another 1,733 patients who were infected with COVID 19 were able to recover, bringing the total number of patients to 585,271.
In Pakistan, 92.4% of patients have recovered from the virus so far, while the number of active cases has reached 34,741.
It should be noted that the first case of Corona virus in the country was reported on February 26, 2020, after which the closure of educational institutions in the country as well as the implementation and removal of various restrictions and lockdowns continued.
Meanwhile, in view of the third wave of the virus in the country, lockdown and smart lockdown have been imposed again in many areas while business hours have also been restricted.
Today, March 23, the situation of the virus in the four provinces and federal units of Pakistan is as follows:
Sindh
Sindh province of Pakistan is the most affected province by the corona virus, but the situation in Sindh is slightly better than Punjab during the recent wave.
The virus has infected another 174 people in the last 24 hours and fortunately the death toll has not increased in the last two days.
Thus, the number of reported cases of the virus in Sindh so far has reached 263,464 and the death toll has remained at 4,479.
Punjab
The situation of corona virus in Punjab province has deteriorated significantly and several restrictions have been imposed in the province in this regard.
In the last 24 hours, 1,929 cases were reported in Punjab while 57 patients died.
Thus, the total number of cases in Punjab was 2969 and the death toll was 6,039.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 482 new cases of the global epidemic were diagnosed and 10 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
After these figures came to light, the total number of cases reached 80,519 and the number of deaths reached 2,225.
Balochistan
In Balochistan, the country's largest province by area, five new cases were reported yesterday and no further deaths were reported.
Thus, the total number of cases there is 19,347 while the number of deaths is 203.
Islamabad
In the country's federal capital, 590 new cases of the global epidemic were confirmed and three more patients died.
Thus, the total number of cases in Islamabad has reached 52,676 and so far 548 patients have died.
Azad Kashmir
Corona cases are also increasing alarmingly in Azad Kashmir and 88 more people were affected while 2 patients died yesterday.
In Azad Kashmir, the number of Corona victims has reached 11,792 while the death toll is 338.
Gilgit-Baltistan
The Gilgit-Baltistan government had declared the region corona-free, but two new cases came to light yesterday.
A total of 4,974 cases of corona have been reported in the area while 103 people have died.
