South Africa has selected new captains for the Test, ODI and T20 formats. Dan Elgar has been named captain of the Test team while Tamba Booma has been named captain of the ODI and T20 format.
According to popular cricket website Kirk Info, Tamba Booma will be the first black captain in South African history. He has been selected as the captain for T20 Cricket World Cup 2021 and 2022 as well as ODI Cricket World Cup 2023. While Dan Elgar will captain the Test team until the next Test Championship, Tamba Booma will also be the vice-captain of the Test team.
