According to Indian media, the tragic incident took place in the state of Telangana. Suresh, 21, was playing badminton on the roof with her friends when a herd of monkeys suddenly arrived.
Suresh and his friends tried to scare the monkeys and chase them away but the monkeys persisted. According to Indian media reports, the monkeys later entered the girl's house and attacked and killed her.
Such incidents have become very common in India due to the abundance of monkeys.
In two attacks in November 2019, monkeys attacked and killed a 12-day-old baby and a 58-year-old woman in Agra. The 12-day-old baby died when the monkeys entered a house and snatched the baby from the breastfeeding mother and attacked him, killing him.
Another 58-year-old woman went out to defecate and was attacked by monkeys.
Later, in October 2020, a 13-year-old girl went to take off her clothes from the roof and was attacked and killed by a group of monkeys already sitting there.
