In India, the husband of Ayesha, a girl who committed suicide by jumping into a river after being teased by her in-laws, came forward.
According to Indian media reports, 23-year-old Ayesha from Ahmedabad had committed suicide by jumping into the river after being ridiculed by her in-laws. Gujarat police arrested Ayesha's husband Arif Khan from Pali area of Rajasthan.
Indian media say that police is interrogating Arif Khan, further revelations are expected in this case.
Ayesha's husband Arif is accused of torturing his wife for dowry after marriage and Ayesha was also taunted by her family for dowry.

Police say Ayesha's husband Arif Khan works with his father Babu Khan in the granite factory Jalore and also runs the shop. He rented two of his own shops and worked as a supervisor in the factory himself. The accused was arrested and produced in court and remand has been obtained.
On the other hand, Ayesha's uncles said that her in-laws used to torture her regularly due to her greed for dowry, which made her resentful and resorted to suicide.
It is to be noted that Ayesha from Gujarat had recently committed suicide by jumping into the Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad. Before committing suicide, Ayesha had made a video statement which went viral, which caused a wave of outrage on social media.

Remember that Ayesha made the last video on Sabarmati river and she said. Whatever I am doing, I am doing it of my own free will, Ayesha added, "What can I say now, God-given life was just that." Dad, how long are you going to fight? Now take back the case.
Ayesha further said that if Arif wants freedom then we will give him freedom, I told him what I should tell him, I had some questions, I got the answer today, I don't want to live anymore.
