He alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) wanted to make some unpopular people senators whom PTI members were not ready to vote for.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that before the advent of Senate elections, development funds are being released to the members of the Assembly which are tantamount to bribery, bribery of the members of the Assembly in the name of development funds should be stopped. Imran Khan himself used to say that development funds are given as bribes. He said that he stood by the common man against inflation and termed the Broadsheet Commission as a cover for PTI corruption. Everyone, including government employees, will join the PDM protest.
