Bollywood actor Salman Khan has apologized for submitting a fake affidavit in a black deer poaching case.
According to Indian media, Salman Khan appeared in the Jodhpur Sessions Court via video conference in the case of hunting of two rare black deer in Rajasthan.
Meanwhile, during the hearing of the case, Salman Khan apologized to the court in 2003 for mistakenly presenting a fake affidavit.
Salman's lawyer said that the affidavit submitted on August 8, 2003 was given by mistake as Salman had forgotten that his weapons license had gone to the concerned agency for renewal. Given that the license has been lost in court.
According to the report, the final verdict will be issued by the court on February 11.
It may be recalled that Salman was arrested in 1998 for shooting two rare black chinkara deer during the shooting of the film in Rajasthan and a case was initially registered against him under the Arms Act.
In this case, in 2003, the court had sought an arms license from Salman on which he had stated in his affidavit that he had lost it.
In 2018, a court sentenced Salman to five years in prison for poaching deer and sent him to jail, but he was released on bail after spending two nights there.
