Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has termed the decision of messaging app WhatsApp to postpone the change in policy as a right step.
In a recent message on social media site Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry wrote that "WhatsApp's decision to delay the change in privacy policy is a step in the right direction."

"Companies like Facebook affect a very large population, so it's important for users to be aware of decisions like data security," he wrote.
The federal minister also said that "data and privacy should be ensured in all cases."
Note that WhatsApp delayed the change in data sharing policy. The decision was made in light of concerns about consumer data sharing.
WhatsApp has extended the deadline from February 8 to May 15 after criticism, with WhatsApp saying it will also include user feedback to review the policy.
