US President Donald Trump has signed the Malala Education Act.
According to a statement issued by the White House, Pakistani women will now receive 50% of the scholarships in the higher education scholarship program.
The bill, named after Pakistan's Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, was passed by the US House of Representatives in March last year. Earlier this month, the Senate also gave final approval to the bill.
Under US rules and regulations, the scholarship bill was sent to President Trump for final approval, who has now signed the act. The bill has become law after being signed by the US President.
Malala Yousafzai has been living in the UK since the suicide attack. Malala Yousafzai is a graduate of Oxford University
