Unidentified gunmen shot dead two female Supreme Court judges in the Afghan capital.

According to a statement issued by the Presidential Palace of Afghanistan, unidentified gunmen opened fire on a car in Kabul at around 8:30 this morning, killing two female Supreme Court judges and injuring two others. The injured include the driver of the car and a woman.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has condemned the attack, saying the killing of innocent people by the Taliban and other terrorist groups is against the teachings of Islam and the spirit of peace.

Addressing the Taliban, he said that terrorism, crime, and extremism were not the solution to the problem, adding that the Taliban would have to express their desire for peace through permanent ceasefire.
