Two-finger test to confirm rape case, Lahore High Court delivers shocking verdict

Lahore High Court has declared two-finger test illegal to confirm rape. Justice Faisal Zaman of the Lahore High Court, while delivering a safe verdict on the petition of Shaista Pervez and citizen Sadaf Aziz, declared the two-finger test illegal in the rape case.

Announcing the verdict, the Lahore High Court said that now that modern technology has arrived, finger testing is not justified. The court stayed the fingerprint test until alternative arrangements were made to confirm the rape case. Sameer Khosa Advocate appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner.

It may be recalled that finger test was being debated for a long time to confirm the rape case. Through this test, the doctor inserts two fingers into the vagina of the affected virgin to confirm whether the hymen is broken or intact. The biggest objection to this test was that if a married woman is abused, how can the security of her virginity be confirmed?
