Federal Minister Shafqat Mehmood has said that in view of the situation in Corona, it is not possible to reopen the schools on time. Speaking to a private TV channel, he said that in the second wave of Corona, schools were forced to close. He said that due to our timely action, the number of corona cases has not increased. "Corona is still spreading fast. In the current situation, it is not possible for schools to open on time," he said.
We are considering when and how to open the schools as most of the primary school children have been affected. We will also try to open the primary schools first. There is also a proposal to open the schools in phases. If implemented, only primary schools will be opened first. This time no student will pass without examinations.
Examinations will be conducted in any case. I am not in favor of reducing the syllabus during school holidays. We are trying to reduce the summer vacations so that the course can be completed. It should be noted that educational institutions across the country from January 25. It is likely to be opened in phases, but the final decision will be taken (today) at the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference on Monday, January 4.
In this regard, it was informed that all decisions related to the opening of educational institutions in the country will be taken on the basis of Health Advisory. The inter-provincial education ministers' conference, chaired by Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood, will be attended by education ministers from the four provinces.
