Egypt's two most famous women have been acquitted of spreading obscenity and violating public morality.
According to the international news agency, an Egyptian court has acquitted two young women accused of attacking the values of society through videos on Tik Tok. The women were sentenced in July last year to two years in prison for "violating public morals."
Young tick taker Hanin Hassam was accused of encouraging women out of 1.3 million of his users to broadcast videos in exchange for money, while Mauda was accused of publishing immoral pictures and videos.
Canaan University student Hanin Hassam fainted in the courtroom after hearing Barit's verdict. Haneen, who has been in prison for nine months, has been suffering from severe depression but is facing another trial for his release.
In traditional Egypt, women are not allowed to adopt Western lifestyles and young people are urged to adhere to national values while using social media, or face up to two years in prison and a fine of 300,000 Egyptian pounds.
