In India, the practice of two marriages is almost non-existent and is considered a crime in the Hindu religion and constitution, but Chandu Moria, a resident of Bedar district in Chhattisgarh, not only established a new tradition by marrying two girls at once.
The story goes that the girls named Hasina and Sundri liked Chandra Moria and both of them wanted to marry him so Chandu got married to both of them in the same pavilion keeping their hearts.
"I liked both of them and they both liked me, so the three of us got married in front of the whole village, but one of the bridesmaids did not attend our wedding," said Chandu Moria.
The villagers also attended Chandu Moria's wedding and no one opposed the marriage.
It may be recalled that under the Hindu Marriage Act, it is a crime to have two marriages at the same time in India, but no case has been registered against Chandu.
