A resident of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, who threw her daughter down from the sixth floor and jumped herself, said that she had decided to kill the child and commit suicide after receiving a notice that there was no money for drugs and the rented house was vacant. Both survived.
A case has been registered against a woman who tried to commit suicide by throwing her two-year-old daughter from a building in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.
According to SHO Gulshan-e-Iqbal Sohail Shehzad, a 33-year-old woman named Maryam threw her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter Iman down from a building in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 13D on Saturday. The scratch did not come. Later, the woman hung on the balcony for some time and jumped. She was injured when she fell down from the power lines. The residents took her to a private hospital and then to a government hospital.
SHO Sohail Shehzad said that the detailed statement of the girl was taken. The girl said in her statement that she used to smoke cigarettes and then she started using different types of drugs, eight years ago in the murder of her first husband Hassan Shehzad. She has been arrested and jailed. After being released on bail, she married a man with whom she has a year and a half of faith.
The woman said that her husband had not been coming home for a few days and she was upset due to lack of money for drugs and the landlord had also given a notice to vacate the house due to which she had decided that the girl She will commit suicide after being thrown from the building, but miraculously survived and injured herself.
Gulshan-e-Iqbal police, after taking the girl's statement, registered a case against her under Section 324 for attempting to throw her real daughter down from the building with the intention of killing her and for committing suicide under Section 325.
The SHO further said that the girl is still suffering from intoxication and repeatedly talks of asking for ice, due to which the girl is making contradictory statements. Maryam, who was injured due to intoxication, named several of her friends. He said that he did not have anyone's number and did not remember the address of the family members. Despite the passage of 3 days, no one contacted the girl. Gulshan-e-Iqbal Investigation Officer is further investigating the matter.
