The African country of Uganda has shut down all social media platforms across the country for the sake of transparency in the presidential election.
According to foreign media, Uganda is going to hold presidential elections in two days in which to ensure transparency, the government has ordered the concerned agency to shut down Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and other social media platforms.
Uganda's regulatory authority has written to Internet providers urging them to block all social media platforms. The government's order will affect 17 million Internet users in Uganda.
