According to Indian media, Riya Chakraborty's brother Shovik Chakraborty was also present when he arrived at the NCB office in Mumbai. It can be seen in the viral video on social media that when the security personnel asked the actress and her brother about the purpose of their arrival, they said that they had come to pay their respects, her father was also present on the occasion.
It may be recalled that on June 14 last year, 34-year-old actor Shant Singh Rajput was found dead in his flat in Mumbai, after which his family members blamed Riya Chakraborty for the actor's suicide and a case was filed against him in Bihar. The case was registered and reached the Supreme Court.
Sashant's family accused Riya Chakraborty of having an affair with Sashant for money, making him addicted to drugs, using him and making him suffer from such circumstances that he was forced to take extreme measures.
The Supreme Court in its judgment had directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the alleged suicide of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The Narcotics Control Board (NCB) was also involved in the investigation after a drug use case came to light during the investigation into the actor's death.
Meanwhile, the NCB had arrested Riya Chakraborty and her brother in a drug case last September, after which the Mumbai High Court granted conditional bail to Riya Chakraborty for six months after a month-long detention. She has to appear before the NCB on the first Monday of every month while her brother was also released conditionally after 3 months.
