Sanjay Leela Bhansali is currently busy completing his upcoming film 'Gangu Bai Kothiawari', as well as casting for 'Heera Mandi'.
Interestingly, the story of 'Hira Mandi' is also based on the prostitution business like his upcoming film 'Gangu Bai Kothiawari'.
The Indian website Free Press Journal reported that there are reports that Sanjay Leela Bhansali will make a film on Lahore's past and the prostitution business there.
The report quoted sources from another news website as saying that the film, titled 'Hira Mandi', would likely be released on Netflix or another similar online streaming website.
Sources said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali will produce the film, while 'Hira Mandi' will be directed by his former assistant director Vabhu Puri.
According to the report, although Vibhu will fulfill the instructions of the film, the cast of the film will be seen by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself and he has cast Alia Bhatt for 'Hira Mandi'.
Sources said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is also in talks with actors like Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, Manisha Koirala and Priyanka Chopra to work in 'Hira Mandi'.
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
The story of 'Hira Mandi' will show the past prostitution business in the area of the same name in Lahore.
The film is likely to cover the first few years before and after the partition of India, but no immediate information has been released.
It is believed that more information about 'Hira Mandi' will come out in the next few months and possibly a Pakistani actor will also be cast in the film, but it is too early to say anything in this regard.
