A report on the recent power blackouts across the country, including in the Pakistani capital, has been submitted to the Power Division.
The power blackout report has been submitted to the Power Division by the National Power Control Center.
According to the report submitted to the Power Division by the National Power Control Center, 500 KV Guddu Shikarpur Circuits 1 and 2 were tripped at 11.41 pm on January 9, along with KV 500 Guddu Muzaffargarh and Guddu DG Khan transmission. The lines were also tripped.
According to the report, the entire power system was shut down, the frequency of the system before the blackout was 49.85 and before the blackout the system was generating a total of 10,311 MW of electricity.
The report said that 1257 MW of electricity was being generated from water, 983 MW of electricity was being generated from government thermal power plants and 8,070 MW of electricity was being generated from IPPs.
According to the report, the restoration process of the system was started from Tarbela Mangla and Warsak powerhouses but the system continued tripping due to high fluctuations in frequency. Tarbela and Mangla were interlinked to stabilize the system.
According to the report, the system restoration started after Tarbela Mangla Interlink and all the transmission process was restored till 7.40 pm on January 10.
According to the report, the National Power Control Center said that on January 10, at 6.44 pm, NTDC was connected to the network's electricity.
