The Zimbabwe Cricket Board has announced a ban on all cricket activities in the country in view of the growing number of corona cases.
The announcement by the Zimbabwe Cricket Board comes at a time when Zimbabwe is scheduled to host a three-match T20 and two-Test series against Afghanistan in the coming days. While active cases have been reported and 29 patients have died of the deadly virus during this period, the Zimbabwean government has imposed an immediate lockdown due to the fast-growing cases, as well as temporarily reopening schools.
It may be recalled that Zimbabwe is scheduled to host Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan cricket teams earlier this year, which is now in question.
